I'd have the instructor, Jesse Martin, show me over and over and over. I'd get right on top of him as he would show me how to highlight with a fan brush, a 2" brush, or a large filbert. It didn't matter what brush he used, magic seemed to happen. And then it looked so effortless when he'd highlight. Over time, I eventually caught into the mechanics and techniques behind highlighting. But it took a long time. This video is going to really cut down the learning curve. We go over all of the brushes used, how to load the paints, how to apply to the canvas. We've filmed it as though you were standing 2 inches from my hand so you can see every stroke. This is an excellent video in which beginners can learn the basic techniques even if they've never painted before, or even so much as held a paint brush. It is on DVD-R and is over 2-hours long.
